This family is very near and dear to my heart. These are some of my husband and my best friends. Recently their 2 year old was diagnosed with a large tumor in the center of his brain. In the last 6 weeks he has undergone 2 brain surgeries, countless MRI’s and Cat Scans, 29 days in the hospital, half of that being in the Pediatric ICU, not to mention the countless amount of needles, poking, prodding, and medicine he has had to endure. He’s a trooper to say the least! He’s finally home and on his road to recovery, but the road is slow and there is always worry that something will happen and he will have a setback.
During his stay in the hospital one thing that the family realized was that they hadn’t had a formal family portrait taken since Peter was born. At times where you are faced with just how fragile life is and how quickly things can change, it brings into perspective how important photography and documenting your life can be. We made it a point that as soon as Peter was home and on the mend that we would get together and have family portraits made!
Well, this last weekend was the perfect time for that, right before Easter and such glorious weather! Below are just a few of the beautiful images we were able to capture that day of the entire family!
I pray for healing and peace with Peter’s condition and hope that those reading this post would do the same!

I’ve posted about this wonderful couple previously, but I think that they definitely deserve more then one post. :) Jennifer and Dorin had the most beautiful wedding in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. The weather was just glorious! And it doesn’t hurt that everyone at the wedding seemed to be the nicest people I’ve ever met! I had such a wonderful time photographing their special day!
This weekend I had the privildge of receiving the most amazing letter from Jennifer about her wedding album. She received it just in time to show it off to her friends and family during an annual trip that they attend. I was so glad that I was able to get it to her in time! She is allowing me to share her letter with you, as it meant so much to me. It shows exactly how I want every couple to feel about my work and the images I create for them to cherish for a lifetime!
Thank you again, Jennifer, for such kind words! *hugs* :)
“Girl, let me tell you….your album was a hit! It was more beautiful than even I had expected, and my parents and friends were completely blown away. They kept saying they had never seen anything like it!!! One man said, “that’s not photography, that’s art!” It exceeded my expectations, and has impressed everyone that has laid eyes on it. My brother, who doesn’t really get in to stuff like that…went out of his way to tell me how pretty it was. :)
…I knew that you would do an amazing job from the very beginning. I knew you were the only one I would trust with such an important task. Not only did you enhance my wedding day with your professionalism and personal touch, you have made me the most perfect lifetime memory in this beautiful album!!!”

One of my favorite things about being a photographer is being able to capture moments that will live on forever. Each of those moments has a story and there always seems to be one or two images during each session or wedding that resonnates with my client. I love to hear their stories behind the images and why it means so much to them!
Becuase of this I’ve created a category on this website called Real Stories. Occasionally I will be posting the stories of my clients images and which ones mean so much to them and why! So, if you are a current or former client who has had a session or I photographed your wedding, please send me an email at kelly@adairphotography.com with which image is your favorite. If you can’t narrow it down to just one photo, feel free to let me know your top three! Tell me why you picked that specific image and what it means to you! I would love to know what image speaks to you and why, so start sending them in and have your image featured on my website !
So, without further adieu, The first featured real story is of a beautiful newborn named Mackenzie Noelle. She is now almost 3 months old, but these images were taken when she was just about 2 weeks old. She slept pretty much the entire session!
Here’s what Mackenzie’s mom, Erica, had to say:
This image is my very first pick! I love it. It just seems to show the innocence of a child and how “carefree” they are! I love how it shows every wrinkle and dimple in her perfect little skin. I could just look at her precious face forever!

This second image is the one I picked to show everyone I know!!! My husband and I picked this image to use on Mackenzie’s birth announcement! We just love it so much. I just love the scale of it….how it shows just how tiny and precious she is. You don’t think she is that small when you just focus on her and the monkey….but when you see the two of them in the rocking chair…it just puts into perspective her size and beauty!

Thank you for being the first to take part in Real Stories, Erica! I’m looking forward to photographing Mackenzie soon for her 3 month session. :)
Ok guys, who’s next? Remeber to email me your stories!
